To avoid unlicensed use of Bandwidth Splitter, licenses are issued to
specific computers where license will be valid. For that purpose, hardware
identifier is used. It is produced from hard disk drive parameters of the
computer where Bandwidth Splitter will be installed.
To find out the identifier (Hardware Id) of the computer where you plan to install
Bandwidth Splitter, you need to launch instalation program (file named
bsplitter.exe) at that computer. On the very first page of installation
wizard you will see a code that seems like that: CE09741A. After copying this
identifier you can stop the installation process by pressing the Cancel
button.
During the order process you should specify obtained identifier in the field
Hardware Id of the order form, or you may leave it blank if you want to specify it later.
After order processing, license file with detailed instructions will be sent to you.
License update
You can upgrade you license at any time to increase the number of licensed
clients. The upgrade cost is just a difference between original license
costs. For example, upgrade from 50 to 100 clients license costs $200 (699-499), and
upgrade from 50 clients to Unlimited license costs $1000 (1499-499). In latter case you need to purchase 5 units of license upgrade.
You may need to update your license in case you want to transfer Bandwidth
Splitter to another server. Since license is bound to hard disk drive parameters you don't need to update
your license in case of change of any other hardware like processor or memory.
License update in case of hardware change is free of charge. However you cannot
update it more than two times a month.
